Let's party til the devil's mescal wrecks us
Don't get me started!
Hi, Slaid. I see you're going to be at Knuckleheads in Kansas City on November 7. Did you know that the Flatlanders (Joe, Butch and Jimmie Dale) will be at Knuckleheads on another stage at the same time? They don't allow people to go back and forth unless you pay for both. Hopefully, I'm wrong and you're actually opening for them. If you're playing separately, I'll come to your show. BTW, my favorite song of yours is "Hearts Break." The line "One thing remains: the terrible beauty of it all" is powerful. See you in KC. Dave from Lawrence, KS
Hey Dave, Sorry to make you have to choose. We tried to get the opening slot but it was not available. I might have to dust off "Hearts Break" - it's been a long time since I played that one. (BTW "terrible beauty" is a phrase I "borowed" from the great Irish poet, W. B. Yeats).
Your song breakfast in hell showed up on my discover weekly on Spotify
Now I’m being listening to your album sorrow and smoke for eight hours a day at work for the last four mouths. And I really like it. Of course your other albums as well.
Just wanted to let you know.
I hope I will manage to see you live someday.
Filip from Sweden
Hi Philip. Yes! Technology working in my favor - thanks to you Swedes for inventing Spotify. -Slaid

My 8 year old daughter Tessa, would love to hear “Horseshoe Lounge” tonight in Brunswick. It’s one of her favorite songs. We get some funny looks in the grocery store when she starts singing “peel the label off a miller light”
Hey, that's some fine parenting there. I always kick off the show with that song, so make sure and get there in time - show starts at 7:30! -Slaid
