Thanks very much for the info regarding Ivan Browns CD and the link. I have purchased it so should not have to ask the question again.
When are you coming back to the UK again, any plans at this stage ?
Glad to help out. No UK travel until I have a new batch of songs. Don't hold your breath.
Many apologies Slaid as I have asked you this question before but can't find my note from your reply.
Sometime, back at the end of 2000 I believe, you came to Engalnd and played at Wymeswold village hall with Lynn Miles supporting. You sang a song about a little boy that if my memory serves me well was a cover version. Quite a quirky little song that I loved and vowed one day to get a copy of.
From this vague description can you once again recall what the song was please ?
Ha! That brings back memories. You are thinking of bass player Ivan Brown's "He's Old, He's Six." It's on this album: https://www.amazon.com/fortune-wheel-iva...
Referencing your planned visit to Albuquerque Botanic Garden performance on Thursday June 27: My wife and I are former residences of Maine as well but have lived in “ The Duke City “ for 30 years. I am a local acoustic bass player who very much enjoys your style . We have hosted traveling musicians here at our home in the past and are extending an invitation to you to lodge with us at our house in the NE Hts section of town during your visit. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested. firstname.lastname@example.org
So kind of you! We appreciate the offer, but we're all set this time through. I didn't know about the moniker "Duke City." Will have to look that up on wikipedia. Cheers, Slaid
Hey, that's pretty impressive. Thanks. We had to pull the plug on our Tucson and Pinos Altos (Buckhorn) shows. Will try to reschedule down the line.
Your "If I had a heart". Brilliant. Thank you for taking the hard road in writing songs. Sounds simply. Not so! You spent some time on this one. How do you make something sound simple yet surprise you with a bit slight of hand?Thank you.
That's a nice thing to read. Glad the song connects. How does it happen? Your guess is as good as mine. Though persistence helps.
Well, the Horseshoe Lounge is gone now, but the Devil's Backbone Tavern lives on.
Hi, looking forward to seeing you in Santa Cruz. Quick story and a couple of requests. About 7 years ago I brought my Son, Kean, to see you at Kuumbwa, he requested "Flower dresses", and you played it. You introduced it saying some ten year old had made the request, he shouted out that he was 12. Well, he's coming, along with my daughter, Aniela. It'll be the third time we've seen you as a family. Also bringing my amazing partner Amy. We saw you for our second concert date, and she shortly there after downloaded all your music. I've got all the cd's and the new vinyl! She and I have seen you a bunch, and the last time through town you topped Joan Armatrading as the artist I've seen the most.
Anyways, not so short, Aniela used to sing "lydia" and I'd love to hear "temporary" and/or "Cry". Not trying to write the whole set list. We love all your songs, so anything will do.. Cheers
Man, thanks for coming back and bringing the family. I should be able to squeeze those songs into the set. See you soon. -Slaid
I'm with ya on Facebook, grudgingly getting to know Spotify (for career purposes only). Email is A-OK with me. -Slaid
Not really a question, but hoping you’ll make it to the Vegas area.
We retired and moved to Havasu.
(I’m the one that keeps requesting “Gone”
Every west coast trip.
This is the first west coast tour we’ll miss.
Ah, the "Gone Guy." We'll miss you. I don't see Vegas happening. We've been trying to get a gig in Flagstaff, though no luck so far. Cheers -Slaid
