Love your music, Slaid!!. Your lyrics always touch my heart and soul; you have a talent for getting all the right words in all the right places. The songs on your latest CD are fantastic. I love the way you've been closing your shows (saw you at Godfrey Daniels in PA and The Towne Crier in NY) with "Go for the Gold". "GONE" haunts me - what (who) was the inspiration behind that one? Can't wait 'til you come to PA or NY again! Blennie
Thanks Blennie. It's so much talent but dogged determination. Gone was written with a childhood friend, Nicole St Pierre, whose grandmother used to utter the phrase "And there it was: gone!" when she would misplace something. Nicole wrote the story and I turned it into a song.
I love all you music. Are there any plans for releasing your catalog on vinyl? If it already is available, could you please share the link where I might find it? Thank you, Mitch WebbSlaid Cleaves responded on 03/08/2014 Next question
I am adding a rotating celebrity disclaimer at the conclusion of the radio show each week. I am hoping you’d like to be included! This is the copy:
Hi, this is______, here to remind you that: "While the Risky Biscuit Hayseed Hoot is a mood-altering, non-substance - common side effects include, but are not limited to, uncontrolled head bobbing, toe tapping, finger snapping, selective hearing impairment and persistent melody flashbacks. Ask your doctor if The Hoot is right for you."
Of course, you’re free to read it, add to it, have fun with it... You can send an mp3 to my email, email@example.com
Please, thank you and cheers!
Yer radio compadre,
