Born and raised in Cenrtral Austin. Raising my own son is South. Where can I find the cemetery you drew inspiration from on your song "Temporary?" Having my own son, I am beginning to think of my own inability to, in the end, avoid mortality. Thank you for any leads.
We used to live next to Oakwood Cemetery, just east of I-35, south of MLK. Lots of characters in there: Prosper Humbert, Ashley Smoot, Ima Hogg, Tinsley Simcock, Olivia Manlove . . .
Slaid, a devastating song I know you will like if 15 years of listening to your catalog helps me discern what you might like. Perfect for this dreary Austin weather as of late. Kathleen Edwards: Alicia Ross (Album, Asking for Flowers). It's a shame this artists rarely has any shows even in her native Canada. Thank you for 15 years of showing me that "if suffering is human will, I guess we're not alone." Always with just enough optimism to somehow make the hard times feel just a little bit better.Slaid Cleaves responded on 01/12/2015 Next question
My son and I attended your show last night at the cactus cafe - my second (first in San diego, CA) and his first. He's an ST. Ed's student and was in a rush to get to his best friend's birthday party after the show (we were the first ones out the door behind you and Jojo) so I didn't get to ask why your tour won't be making it down to San Diego? Thanks again to you, Karen and Jojo for a really great evening. Missed 'oh Roberta' but haven't felt so happy and blessed at a concert since your last one in SD.Slaid Cleaves responded on 01/17/2015
