Not really a question, but I just wanted to let you know that as a tough guy veteran who thinks he has ice in his veins, I tear up every single time I listen to Still Fighting the War. You and Isbell (Tour of Duty) nail it better than anything else I've ever seen or heard.
Thank you so, so much for putting the wordless into words.

Though I know I would be a useless puddle on the battlefield, your note makes me proud to have played a part in honoring those who put everything on the line for their country, and acknowledging the hardships many continue to face. Thank you for taking the time to let me know I'm doing my job: As Woody Guthrie put it "A folksinger's job is to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable."
Hi Slade! Fran (Hill) Poulin here. Just wanted to say that I met Woody Woodward this summer. I work in a shop in Kport, and he came in. Started talking about music, and found out we both know you!! Just wanted to say hi, and hope to catch your show, when i'm not working!! Take care!! FranSlaid Cleaves responded on 10/13/2016 Next question
Did you happen to be at Rock Bend Folk Festival in St. Peter Minnesota on Sunday Sept. 11? Not performing, but as part of the audience? Of not, there was someone that looked just like you and we had a connection, but wasn't acted upon and I've thought of it a lot for a month...even posting on Missed Connections on Craigslist...which I despise.
Came across your name and picture via an aquaintance on fb tonight that had seen you here in Mankato 2 night's ago...and my heart jumped. Thus the search continues. Yah...I know I sound like a whack job...but really not?
