Love your music Slaid! In your song “New Years Day”, it sounds like you sing the “aisles of New Carlisle” rather than “up at Carlisle”. Just wondering, as we just spent some time in New Carlisle, a pretty town we passed through on a great driving tour of the Gaspe Peninsula, Quebec. To make this more intriguing, my friend Kate Kerr grew up there - now living in western Canada not the Kerrville in your song!

As the old adage goes, people hear what they want to hear. The obscure reference is to Carlisle, PA, where the subject of the song, the late Jack Maxie, would attend the annual auto swap meets. Thanks for writing, Slaid
