Great show the other night at Saxon. You are a terrific songwrier.

Only one small quibble: Mountains streams damaged by coal mine runoff don't run black. They tend to be crystal clear, with some orange fringe on the banks, because the acid kills all fish and plant life. (And also very cleansing for insect bites and other small wounds.) I've paddled the rapids of West Va's Cheat River a lot, and that stream is just plain dead. It feels like paddlng in lemonade.

Thanks Tom. Appreciate the first-hand info. In the song "Hickory" I guess I could say we were using "the streams run black as a curse" metaphorically. We writers get to do that.
