Slaid Cleaves

Hey Slaid, my name is Troy Breslow and I'm a singer songwriter based in Nashville (since January) originally from VA and I've been on tour nonstop this year. Earlier this year I accepted a prestigious award in my hometown of Norfolk and Sorrow and Smoke was the first record I put on that same night on my way back to my home in Tennessee. Had an emotional moment with "One Good Year" because I had finally proven myself in my hometown (which is known as cover band hell) as an original artist, and I had finally made the leap to the big bad city. I can't tell you how many gigs I've headed to and fro whilst listening to your music. I would love to see you play sometime in Tennessee. Any tour plans on the dixie circuit for 2019?

All the best,

Hey Troy, thanks for writing. Congratulations on making the big leap. I did the same thing - Portland, ME to Austin, TX - 27 years ago this month. It took a long time to come to fruition, but it has turned out to be a good move. Persistence is key (and a partner with a decent job). I've had a hard time finding decent gigs in Tennessee - there are plenty of better offers elsewhere in this wide world, so that's where I'll be going in the future. Good luck to you sir! -Slaid
